Following the formation of the ASD team under Co-Action to provide diagnosis and interventions for children on the autistic spectrum in West Cork the team formed a parents support group. Initially led by the Co-Action team, in May 2009 the group formed it's own committee in order to take the responsibility for leading the group off Co-Action's shoulders. This website was created to help the parents group stay in touch and to provide a useful source of information. Whilst this part of the site is freely available to anyone to use, the forum is restricted to families who have children with autism and who are registered with the Co-Action team in West Cork. The reasons for this restriction are mainly: - To focus that part of the site on the needs of the parents in West Cork.
- To respect the privacy of the parents in the support group.
- To reduce the work load of the forum moderators.
